Share Your Weebly Blog Posts to Facebook and Twitter

Your blog posts are awesome, let's be honest. But there's only so much you can do. You write the post, you publish it and you tell your Grandma and all the folks at the local salty saloon about your new post, but how else can you promote it? There are auto-sharing options for both Facebook and Twitter built right into every post you make. Ta-da!

 

Set Up One-Time Twitter Auto-sharing

To set up Twitter for auto-sharing:

  1. Log into your Weebly site and make sure you've navigated to the blog post draft you want to share via social media (click the Drafts button at the bottom of the blog editing pane to access those)

  2. ​Click into the blog post to begin editing your draft

  3. When you're in the post editing pane, click the Post Options button near the bottom left-hand corner 

  4. In the Publish section of the Post Options box that slides up, choose Scheduled Time from the dropdown

  5. Click the Edit Share Settings button

  6. Switch the Share on Twitter option from OFF to ON

  7. Click the Authorize App button that pops up in the confirmation page (that will allow your Weebly blog to talk to your Twitter account)
    Note: if the Authorize App button doesn't populate you probably need to log into Twitter first, then try this process again.

  8. Click the Save button

Set Up One-Time Facebook Auto-sharing

To set up Facebook auto-sharing:

  1. Log into your Weebly site and make sure you've navigated to the blog post draft you want to share via social media (click the Drafts button at the bottom of the blog editing pane to access those)

  2. ​Click into the blog post to begin editing your draft

  3. When you're in the post editing pane, click the Post Options button near the bottom left-hand corner 

  4. In the Publish section of the Post Options box that slides up, choose Scheduled Time from the dropdown

  5. Click the Edit Share Settings button

  6. Switch the Share on Facebook option from OFF to ON; you'll see the following 

  7. Select for your blog posts to get shared either to your personal Facebook account or your Business Fan page account (if you have the business option, you probably know it; otherwise click My Profile)

  8. Select Okay from the authorization pop-up that appears, and click Okay again in the next pop-up message

    If you select My Profile, you're all done BUT if you selected My Business Page you'll be presented with a list of every Business Fan Page you manage.

  9. If you selected My Business Page, select the applicable Facebook page from the list that populates
    Note: once connected, you can disconnect your Facebook account by clicking the Disconnect button.

    Now, when you publish this post it will publish right to your connect Facebook page as well. 

Set Up Continuing Facebook and Twitter Sharing

So, above you learned how to turn on Facebook and Twitter sharing for a single post. Now, you can learn all about how to turn on Facebook and Twitter sharing for ALL posts.

To turn on Facebook and Twitter sharing for all posts:

  1. Log into Weebly and navigate to the website you want to edit the sharing settings for

  2. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page

  3. ​In the General section, as shown in the left-hand sidebar, scroll down to the Facebook Sharing section 

  4. Click the Setup Facebook Share button

  5. Select for your blog posts to get shared either to your personal Facebook account or your Business Fan page account (if you have the business option, you probably know it; otherwise click My Profile) 

  6. Select Okay from the authorization pop-up that appears, and click Okay again in the next pop-up message

    If you select My Profile, you're all done BUT if you selected My Business Page you'll be presented with a list of every Business Fan Page you manage.

  7. If you selected My Business Page, select the applicable Facebook page from the list that populates
    Note: once connected, you can disconnect your Facebook account by clicking the Disconnect button. 


    Now, when you publish this post it will publish right to your connect Facebook page as well.

Allow Visitors to Share Your Posts on Facebook and Twitter

You can also set it so that people reading your blog can share it to their friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter. The toggle of a simple setting allows little sharing buttons to appear on your blog post. When clicked, your visitor can share away to their whole network too!

This is what it adds to your posts:

To turn on the reader sharing options for your post:

  1. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page

  2. Click Blog, from the left-hand sidebar

    In the General Settings section you'll see a Post Share Buttons option.

  3. Toggle the Post Share Buttons option to ON 

  4. Click the Customize link right next to the toggle to select which share buttons you want to appear on your posts 

  5. Click the Done button

Now your readers will be able to quickly share your posts with their followers on both social networks.
