Adding text to your site works the same way that adding images works—you simply drag the desired element to the page. To add text to your site:
-
Log into Weebly and navigate to the site you want to add text to
-
Navigate to the page you want to add text to (make sure you're in the Build tab, and click into your pages from your site's navigation menu)
-
Drag the Image element from the left-hand sidebar onto your page, where you want the image to appear

-
Click inside the Text element and start typing words, sentences or multiple paragraphs
![](https://help.asmallorange.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/GetAttachment/613/413272) As you write, a gray toolbar appears at the top of the Text element. This is the Text toolbar and allows basic formatting changes to your text.
-
Select the text within your Text element that you want to change and apply the desired formatting options from the Text toolbar
![](https://help.asmallorange.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/GetAttachment/613/413273) From left to right... you can bold your text, italicize or underline it, make it bigger or smaller, change the color, create a link, adjust the alignment, created bulleted and numbered lists and remove existing formatting. Note: you CANNOT change the font family to a different style from this element pane. That setting is controlled in the Design tab.
-
To add more text to the page, continue writing in the same element or drag a different Text element, like the Title (add titles or headers) or Text (most regular text) options
-
Click off your Text element when you're done and click the Publish button in the top right corner of the page to publish your changes
