Add an Image Gallery to Your Weebly Site
Posted by ASO Admin on 26 February 2020 04:40 AM

The Gallery element in Weebly allows you to upload photos in bulk, which are then arranged in a click-to-see-larger grid format that you have complete control over.

To add an image gallery to your site:

  1. Log into Weebly and navigate to the page (within the site) in which you want to add your image gallery

  2. Click the Build tab, at the top of the page

  3. Drag the Gallery element (in the Basic section in the left-hand sidebar) onto your page, where you want the gallery to appear

  4. Click the Upload Images icon that appears

  5. Either drag images right from your desktop into the upload box OR click the Upload gallery photos from your computer button that appears when you click on the icon

Note: you can select multiple images by holding the CTRL (Windows) or COMMAND (Mac) key down when selecting your images.

If you have trouble uploading images limit the number of images you upload to no more than 25 images at a time. You can always add more later.

Give the photos a few minutes to upload. When they're done, you'll see an image gallery appear on the page.

Each image in the gallery automatically links to a larger version of the image. You can link each image elsewhere (to another site, page, file or email) or even add a caption that will appear with the enlarged version.

  6. Click on the image gallery to see the image options available

  7. Link the image elsewhere via the chain link icon

  8. Add a caption to the image via the comment bubble icon

  9. Trash the image via the trashcan icon

  10. Click the images and drag them around in the gallery to rearrange their order

  11. In the Gallery toolbox that becomes visible when you click on the image gallery, you can control over image editing options:

    • Add Images - there's no limit, but we recommend uploading no more than 200 images to one gallery

    • Configure columns - set the number of columns you want (the default is three, but you can use from two to six)

    • Spacing - select the amount of spacing to place between each image

    • Advanced - choose whether to add a border around each thumbnail, if you want to crop the thumbnails to either squares or rectangles (has no impact on the larger version of the images)
