Add an Image to Your Weebly Site
Posted by ASO Admin on 26 February 2020 04:28 AM

Adding images, pictures, etc. to your site works the same way that adding text works—you simply drag the desired element to the page.

Add an Image

To add an image to your site:

  1. Log into Weebly and make sure you're within the website you'd like to edit

  2. Navigate to the page you want to add an image to (make sure you're in the Build tab, and click into your pages from your site's navigation menu)

  3. Drag the Image element from the left-hand sidebar onto your page, where you want the image to appear

  4. Click the Upload Image graphic that appears to add your image

A pop-up will appear, presenting you with several ways to add your image.

  5. Upload an image of your own from your computer (you can drag an image from your desktop if you want), search for an image in the Flickr Creative Commons Stock Photo library (the Search tab option), access your favorite photos or nab an image from a URL

Edit an Uploaded Image

To edit an image you just added to your site:

  1. Click on the image

  2. Adjust the size of the image by clicking and dragging the little box corners that appear in the lower right corner of the image (click on the image to see these)

  3. Clicking on the photo also opens up a Settings pop-up that allows you to configure many options for the image, including linking it out to a URL, it's spacing and adding a caption

Some of the control options include:

Lightbox - any visitor who clicks the image on your site will be shown a larger version if this is turned on
Link - turns the image into a link
Spacing - makes minor adjustments to the amount of white space around the image
Caption - add a basic text caption under the image
Advanced - adjust (or turn off / on) the border around the picture

  4. Click the Edit Image button to be directed to a simple image editor, which lets you change things like opacity and fade, lets you rotate or size the image, and even lets you add effects

  5. To crop an image press the Crop button, adjust and move the size of the cropping box that appears over the image to select the area you want to crop away, and click the OK button; your image will crop per your specification

If you don't like your changes you can click Crop again and readjust, or click the Cancel button to quit that editor.

  6. To change anything else about the image click the related editing icons near the top of your editing page, like Rotate and Fade, and configure those as prompted

  7. Click the Save button when you're done editing your image

And now the changes to the image are saved. Let us know if you need help!
