Add Content to Your Weebly Site with the Embed Code Element
Posted by ASO Admin on 26 February 2020 03:39 AM

You can add so many types of content to your Weebly site it's ridiculous. With all the different elements at your fingertips, it'd be hard to find something you want to add that you CAN'T add with the standard elements offered.

However, there may come a time when you need to just utilize some HTML to get what you want on the page... that's where the Embed Code element comes in! You can add outside content like embeddable video, audio, advertisements, forms and more, to your site using this element. You just drag it to your page, paste in or enter HTML, click Publish and you're ready to rock.

To utilize the Embed Code element to add any number of things to your site:

  1. Log into Weebly and navigate to the page (within the site) in which you want to add your your content

  2. Click the Build tab, at the top of the page

  3. Drag the Embed Code element (in the Basic section in the left-hand sidebar) onto your page, where you want the video to appear

  4. Navigate to the video or other content (widget, app, graphic, etc.) of your choosing, whether it be YouTube, Vimeo, Ustream, Blip.tv or other, in your web browser
Note: or, if you're code savvy, write your own code right here! Add anything you want by simply adding a block of HTML code.

  5. Find the embed code for the content you want to add to your site and copy it; this is usually accessed via an embed or share button found near the content, though depending on your situation you may find this code elsewhere

Here we see an example of embeddable code connected to a video that is hosted on Vimeo.com.

  6. Once you have the embed code, click inside the Embed Code element and paste it in

  7. Click off the element and your content should show right up

  8. Click the Publish button to make sure those changes go live on your site

All done! You can also embed text, video elements, audio and more via their own specific element. Just look for them in the sidebar of your Build tab.
