Warning! Prior to following the instructions in this article, it is recommended that you make a full backup of your site. If you need to update the domain name of your Magento installation, just follow these steps:
If URLs are located in other database tables, additional changes may be required depending on your site configuration. You may also need to empty your '/var/cache/' folder before your domain name change will take effect. If you are having difficulty updating the domain name of your Magento installation, please feel free to submit a ticket to our Support department to request a quote. Temporary URLsMagento will not work properly using a temporary URL. It is better to set up a subdomain to do the testing until your site is ready. For example, set up test yourURL.com to point to your ASmallOrange.com account, and use this domain for your base URL. | |
