Using SiteLock for Your Domain

The SiteLock icon resides in the Special Offers section of cPanel. Clicking the SiteLock icon will take you to the Tools page, where you can either enable SiteLock for a domain, access the SiteLock dashboard, or change/update an activated domain.

All domains, including add-ons and subdomains, will be listed immediately in the page afterwards. Click the Access SiteLock icon listed under in the Action menu.

Note: clicking the link causes a pop-up to generate in-browser. Be sure to allow pop-ups in your browser for the site.

Activate SiteLock Service for Your Domain

To activate already-purchased SiteLock service for your domain:

  1. In the SiteLock Service section select Get Protected (under "No SiteLock Protection"), which is only visible for domains with no activate SiteLock protection enabled

  2. From the pop-up dropdown menu that appears, select the domain in which you'd like to have SiteLock service enabled and the type of SiteLock plan to be applied

  3. Click Continue and read the SiteLock Terms of Service and Activation

Your SiteLock dashboard, which allows you to directly edit the company name, contact phone number, and address that was provided at the time of purchase, will be available shortly to you with cPanel. You have the option to display this information when site visitors click the SiteLock Seal on your website. An array of SiteLock icons that allow quick access to features such as static badge creation, messages, number of site pages scanned and the date of the last scan will also become available.

Dashboard Features

Security Scan Summary

This section lists the date of the last scan, type of scan, number of items scanned, alerts, action and status of scan.

Alerts

Alerts are broken down into three levels of priority: high, medium and low. You can review scan alerts by clicking the triangle to the right of the individual alert notification. Details are provided as to why the item was flagged, where it was found on on your site and what recommended actions need to be taken to correct the issue. There is also an option that allows for alerts to be saved in a CSV (comma separated values) file.

Scans

Individual scans can be started by clicking the green icon directly underneath Action. Scan results are listed in the Security Scan Summary section, as well as within the Messages section. If anything is found during the scans the discrepancy will be listed under the according scan category's alerts. Beneath the scan summary a counter of the SiteLock Trust Seal views is shown on a daily scale.

Messages and Alerts

Scan results and notifications will be listed within the Messages and Alerts section. There are additional severity labels and subject lining for each message to help you keep track of messages and their type.

SiteLock Trust Seal

A customizable SiteLock Trust Seal is available at the bottom of the SiteLock dashboard. The SiteLock Trust Seal can be customized by color, size and language and can display one of ten languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Portuguese, or Russian.

Tip! There are two ways to place this badge onto your site. You can copy and paste the custom badge into your site coding or you can click the link beneath the code box to install the badge directly on its own.
