Invalid License File Error
Posted by on 14 June 2012 01:29 PM

You may have changed the hostname on your VPS or upgraded cPanel, and now you see this error when attempting to use WHM or cPanel: "Invalid License File".

You're seeing that error because your cPanel license is tied to the hostname on your server. Be careful if you change the hostname

To fix this:

  1. Log in via SSH

  2. Run the following command:

    /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

That will update the license file with the new hostname. "PUT" error is Time/Date issue which will throw off the license, correcting the system Time/Date then running '/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt' will fix this type of error.
